    Coolant/Chome

Anyone know of anyone in the Austin area that can paint my chrome center caps black? Or at least fill me in on how to do it?

Also I just picked up my truck from midas to get it aligned after raising it back up. The guy there tried to tell me my ph level on my coolant was like 13 or 11, and its supposed to be like -11? Anyone have any idea on what the hell he is talking about?

PH level just indicates how good or clean the antifreeze is and also the freeze point I actuall thought 9-11 was pretty good but if Chevy recommends -11 better do a flush and refill. If Cody is coming from Austin to Waco you could give them to Daniel to paint. I think GM uses Dexcool and do not mix coolants of different brands as they may form a paste and ruin your engine

    1. Take yo wheels off yourself and paint them with rattle can matte black. You may need to get the high temp paint...

    2. WTF? Don't listen to him. Did you do a coolant flush when you did the swap? If so...consider him a retard. If not, I would try a flush and refill in your near future...

you went to midas for an alignment

David stay away from midas and meineke for any work. I wouldn't trust those guys to change the oil in my lawn mower. I forgot the name of the place that B&B suggested. They do great work. He was just trying to get a sale out of you. when i was working at sears the manager said check the mileage and then recommend everything on the list that is near how many miles they have. Why was he checking your coolant PH during an alignment ?

I was thinking of doing it myself. Do I need to scuff them up at all or how should I go about doing it? I thought the paint doesnt stick to chrome very well?

Get some 350 grit. Scuff them up. Go to O'reilly's and buy some primer and spray it on let it dry scuff it again lightly and wipe off the dust and get the high heat black ceramic engine spray and go to town. About three coats and your ready. Good luck.

Buy a plastic adhesion promoter if you paint plastic.
