An aftermarket MAF is the biggest waste of money--it will only cause tuning issues and will constantly have your CEL to come on... De-screening a MAF is also a bad idea. Like everyone else said--stay factory!

The guys having problems with descreened MAF units are not getting their PCM retuned. They read posts about descreening the sensor and see the validity of more air flow but fail to follow through with a tune. They fail to realize part of the reason the screen is there is to provide a linear/non-tumbling air flow past the sensor wires. The sensor is designed with the linear flow in mind. When you change that characteristic you have to update the tune to compensate. Scan a vehicle before descreening and then scan again after descreening (without retuning) and you will see the fuel mixture go lean.
