Imagine how much fuel they could save. Oh wait, VW has diesels getting 60 mpg even though they can't pull 20,000 lbs but then again when was the last time you saw a diesel truck with a load behind it? Just messing with you guys. Diesel trucks have a place and it is pulling a load. I'd like to have one but I'm not laying out $50,000 to buy a new diesel rig. Maybe I can buy me a Kodiak truck and have a real diesel.

Maybe one day when I want to laydown the scratch for a new air dryer spinny thingy I will go after vets in my 7500+ lbs rig (tool box full of tools too!)

The Modded LSX trucks are badass, I will admit and I want one. I just have a need for a diesel and it makes more sense for me.
Be like Andrew and run 11s with 37" tires, haha...

    Very different.

I'm sorry, but I think that is a very ignorant thing to say.

Even if the trucks were the same mods, you introduce a LOT of variables. Driver is a HUGE one.

I don't judge tuners are their ability to make HP, I just them on their ability to make power without sacrificing unnecessary reliability and drive ability.

A bad tune can easily cause $3-15k in damages to a truck.
Wooooooh there take a breath, I'm just messing about the whole Idaho rob thing. Just joking around about it because everyone runs his tunes (and for a reason) my tune is very reliable, and it's nice to have my tuner live 1/2 a mile away from me. My diesel is by no means my race truck or a race truck. My Silvy SS is (130 trap).

Believe me, if I had a Kodiak, modding it would be the last thing on my mind. I would be in retirement mode dragging my fifth wheel travel trailer down the highway and joining the rest of the snowbird flock in the south during the winter and pulling up north in the summer. I get a kick out of the big rig drivers drag racing. It's cool to watch the exhibition rail dragsters with the diesel engines in them but still they don't go fast enough to contend with similar vehicles in the gas engine world. It is no comparison to when they threw a pair of turbos on a small block, put it in a funny car running gasoline instead of nitro-methane and beat the pants off a top fuel funny car, only to be banned from competition by the NHRA.

You would surely be out of MAP very quickly, Gassers for the most part can run much larger turbos than a diesel and at the same time have less gain due to powerband and spooling.

With a Diesel you can run a somewhat larger than stock charger and provided you have the fuel to spool can see HUGE gains on the pwr end... not so much on gassers.

But all in all turbo's are badass anyways

Ever seen a diesel oil down a track vs a gas engine? 6 quarts cleans up quick. 6 gallons shuts a track down for a very long time. Last time I saw one scatter at NorthStar it shut down one lane for the rest of the night because they ran clean out of oil dry trying to clean the mess up.
