Hey guys, my 80e is coming in soon and I need to decide on the driveshaft.
What vehicle shares the chassis of the avlanche, is it the Suburban?
If so, I'll just order a shaft from a 8.1L sub with 2wd 80e in it.
thanks,
allen

Ya, I hope it's that easy, I'll get my specs and order one up.
I'm not sure if the output tailshaft will mate up and if the length is right, I'll double check.
As for the chassis being the same on the suburban and avalanche, are they?
thanks for the input,
allen

I'd just call Denny's Driveshafts and have them build you a performance one. Done right, done once.![]()

Ya, I've already bought from Denny's three times, their driveshafts are the best.
I've already called them also, my avalanche's driveshaft is too long and they can't ensure they can build one.
A driveshaft can only be so long.
Anyone know if the avalanche frame is the same as the suburban, at least the same length?

Have you measured it yet? The stock shaft may work fine with a yoke switch.

Precision Shaft Technologies, Custom Driveshafts
Just an example but what about carbon drive shafts

The Avalanche is built on the Suburban Frame.. Notice how there's no Break from the cab to bed of the truck. They took the suburban and just cut the body up a little, and left the rest of the chasis the same.... Thats why the avalanches ride so smooth, and don't ride like a truck...
