Hey guys, back on the forum for the first time in a while. After lots of debating I decided to stick with the motor I have and just build the crap out of it. Lookin at some AFR heads and a bigger throttle body to bolt on immeadiately, later on rebuild with cam/forged pistons and the whole 9 yards with a power adder eventually. Wanted to hear you guys thoughts and any recommendations on retaining the stock computer system. also, wondering if regular aftermarket 350 heads will even bolt up since (I believe) the '93 truck motors were tall deck

what do you guys think about these? not sure if i could mate them to the stock y pipe tho...

Red has the right idea. You will have to drop crazy money to match that HP increase.

Tall deck small Block? From the factory? I think not. For heads you have the option of conventional small block Chevy heads or later vortec heads. (Gen I vortec NOT Gen3)) The vortecs flow much better than early Chevy heads but you must change intakes since the angle of the intake bolts was revised on the vortecs. Factory iron vortecs can often be had for around $450 new and complete.... Aftermarket vendors also offer aluminum versions (I think Edelbrock calls theirs the "Etec")
