Well , my truck is now the lucky age of 13 and still hauling ass ! But the passenger door sounds like it's going to fly open at times when I drive down the glass smooth roads of New Orleans ! I've looked at the striker post , if that's what it's called in the doorjamb and it looks ok . Does this sound like a worn out latch assembly ? I'm expecting this to be a dealer item , right ? Thanks guys

Thanks Red ,so is it most likely something in the latch assembly that's bad?
Check the bushings in the hinges, also. If they are worn the striker/latch will rattle, also. What condition are the seals in? They help to keep the door tight.
I believe there is plastic molded around the latch and it get brittle and breaks away slowly.
