Don't waste your f'in money on a f'in Dayco belt tensioner. Two weeks ago I thought the supercharger was wearing out the stock one, so a little preventive maintenance and bought a new one (F'in Dayco).

On the way home tonight...BOOM. No PS, Alt, or water pump. I thought it was my imagination until the system not charging light came on, then I noticed no PS. By the time I got off the highway, temp had shot to 260 or something...about a gnat's ass from the overheat redline on the guage. The thing came COMPLETELY apart like I had shot it with a Desert Eagle from 5 paces. Even some plastic spacers and other spaghetti shit came out.

Luckily I kept the stocker, and I remembered all the tool sizes I needed for the swap, so it was just a 1 1/2 hour pain in the ass. She seems to run okay.

Just a public service anouncement to inform all my friends. Rant off.

An ounce of prevention causes 10 pounds of frustration. Your engine should be fine.

Thanks guys. Ran fine on the way to work this morning, but now I am leary of jumping on it.

I am sure I will overcome my fears by lunchtime.

Your engine is fine, I was staying on the beach on night with some friends and me and my GF slept on the bench seat in my truck, I turned it on for some A/C and fell asleep, the hot ass A/C is what woke me up, the engine and transmission was overheating and pegged out. When I pulled the motor it was fine, the headgaskets looked good.

Im going to get a Katech tensioner.

I thought about that too. I called Katech, but they don't recommend using one with a SC. I guess turbo you will be fine.

my opinion, they don't recommend it because they don't want to be responsible for replacing a $5k huffer on top of a $3k motor should you prove that their product is at fault. Lol but that is just my opinion.
