Ok Dudes,

I just open the Super package where My Diabolic Extreme and Radical Turbo cam came and my Petroleum Suck Sea Plataform Injectors came. (same cam as most of you guys 222/224 - .581/.581 - LS115 and 60Lbs injectors)

Now I want to install them and of course I need a new tune. And "Paciently" wait my FM Turbo.

My Question is, can I install the cam without disarming half engine?

Does anybodyknow a trick for the lifters to stay in place while take one out and putting the other one in?

Maybe a dumb question, or maybe some one here just achive that goal!!!!!!

I call to Allen Shop and the told me that a Truck was over Allen, that sounded weird!!!!!! My english is bad anyway LOL

In an LS1 it is real easy, after taking the rocker arms off and the push rods out, remove the timing chain and spin the cam around a few times. And quickly swap the cams outs. I have done that in 4 different LS1 cars before I got the lifter tools
2004 Chevy/Regency RST, 6.0L LQ4, custom built NV MG-5 tranny by local Tranny Guru, Hurst Shifter, K&N FIPK, stock Regnecy Exhaust, 3.73 gears w/ Eaton Locker, and the Magnacharger huffer topping it off w/ stock pulley... for now

Looking to meet people w/ LS1 trucks in the OKC area PM me

the lifter tool is nothing more than a round rod with a flat ground down the length of it. If someone could measure the OD of their lifter retainer tool and measure the distance across the flat to the round side we could make our own. It's a sweet tool to own, though I've never had a need to use one when swapping cams in my engines. Oh yeah, length of the tool would be nice, too.

Gabe, just pull the pushrods, rotate the crankshaft so that the cam alignment dot is either straight up or straight down, remove the timing chain and large sprocket, remove the cam retainer, reinstall the large sprocket, get your new cam lubed and ready to install, spin the cam in the engine round and round a few times so it pushes all the lifters up in their plastic retainer, pull the old cam out, slide the new cam in, install thrust retainer....

Edit...added Allen's comment about sprocket dot alignment

Do it Gabe!
The injectors will actually be a good thing on your engine, being that we keep having to richen up the a/f ratio.
The cam is very easy.
Oh ya, don't forget to line up the dots before you pull the cam sprocket.
good luck and pm or im me if you need any help,
allen
