Thread: 1/4 time off??

1. #1
I have a heavy ass gaylords tonneau cover on my truck. I've been racing with it on, and now I want to take it off. About how much faster should my truck be without the extra weight. Also, will i have traction problems when i launch?? BTW, the tonneau cover is about 300+lbs.

well they say for every 100lbs is 1/10 off your quarter mile time. but that could just be jibberish. 300lbs is pretty damn heavy for a tonneau cover.

I've tried to take it off by myself but couldn't. I even had trouble just sliding it back. lol. I say it takes like 2-3 guys to take it off. Even if it's 1/10 off, thats enough for me to take it off.

you could sell it and buy one of those sliding tonneau covers, those are nice and pretty light.

if you go this route, see about a pull pin setup. would be easier than dealing with tools everytime you're at the track.

I can't believe that thing is that heavy. I pick mine up by myself and carry it. Can't weigh over 80 lbs.
