Hey guys first of all i have been a member here for some time dont post much but i do read alot and have learned alot from here. The deal is this i have a cousin with a 2004 Ford and he is having problems with his motor, he is getting a pretty good deal in a chevy motor a 5.3 with the transmission and pcm. Do you all think he can make it work, the mechanic said that if he could find the motor mounts i wuld be much easier, but the next problem would be the wiring, has any one tried this or is he better of repairing his motor. Thanks in advance.

That won't be as hard as it sounds. Engine mounts can be bought on Ebay and they're made out of steel so that you can weld to them if you need to add metal to complete the mounts. It's all feasible. Allen can make you a simple to connect wiring harness and program your PCM to run without VATS.

I could drive something like that. I like the new body styles but not fond of the drivetrains. Red is right it will not be as hard as you think. I see ppl drop chevy motors in ford cars all the time at the drag strip even the supposed mighty 5.0 cars. Seen a guy drop a big block chevy in a mustang also. Basicly it is possible. Just get the tools out and do it man.

Thanks guys for the replies will start looking for the motor mounts first and and then we will go from there. BTW it will not be a stock 5.3. After that he will be doing the rear end, getting rid of those 3.55's.
