You'll need some 918s to handle the large lift. I'd do it but I'd also put an LS1 on my riding lawnmower if I had one laying around doing nothing!

Yeah, buy a set of TR's rods. They are only about $100

Yeah, buy some pushrods. If you bend a stock pushrod it screws up the guide hole in the head and then you start having problems.

While you're that far into the valve train, go ahead an put some stock height roller rockers on it. If you turn RPM's over 6000, you'll be needing a set pretty quick. My friend with the Porsche went through 3 sets and he finally put a good set of rockers on the other day. The damn needle bearings kept coming apart even with the new factory rockers. Rockers are a cheap investment, they're next on my list.

Does anyone think that's borderline too big?

For a 5.3? I would think that's too big. Everyone was telling me anything over a 220 was pushing it.

I think w/o the supporting mods, he wont like it. He needs a stall, p-rods, good springs, tune, exhaust.

yep ive actually decided not to buy his used cam and go with a texas racing cam .... 224/224 253/253 112 like you suggested allen.... it gonna comes with p-rods and .918 springs... kinda a package deal from texas speed... at the same time im gonna buy my LT's and ORY..... then gonna have a 3000 stall with a rebuild thrown in before the end of the year

yeah i talked myself outta gettin that cam and goin with what you originally explained to me Allen... i decided to go with the 224, because its a little stout but in the future when i add more to the motor it will already be there and be able to handle other supporting mods.....

ill post up pics and sound clips when i get all my stuff in and let yall knwo how the install goes.....

thanks again and im sorry i knew i shoudla listened to you in the 1st place, but the cheap price got me thinkin the wrong ideas
