Well, Billy and Dustin are getting my converter put in. I just talked to Billy and he said the tranny fluid was black (not to mention it was low - and no, I haven't checked it in a while, my bad). He said the dark fluid usually means there's clutch material in the fluid, which may mean I'll be looking at some slippage problems in the near future.
That being said, I need some input. I don't plan on babying this thing, especially since I'm getting the converter put in. So if I start to have issues with slipping, I need some recommendations. Is it best to rebuild? Or is it more cost effective to put in a better built tranny? And by cost effective, I mean is it going to be cheaper in the long run to put a built tranny in now, rather than replace it with another 4L60E and have problems again down the road. And if the recommendation is to replace it, which one? 4L80E? Other?
