I'd go with a cam if you don't already have one.

A good quality stall convertor. Every shop I ever talk to says your first step should be a good stall if you want to reduce 1/4 mile times. Get the truck dynoed and find out where your power curve begins and then get a convertor to match it. I was told to never buy one under 2600 rpm and never trust a builder that can make you one under $300 because they are using stock factory parts.

Theres a Hughes converter (3000) for sale on another web site for 500.
Is this a good deal? I don't know any thing about Hughes converters

I never new 4l80e converters were so much more than the 4l60e converters
