question about tire size though, what size tire would you suggest if... including the wheel and tire, the height was 28 inches from the ground up to the top of the tire. so basically four inches of tire on each side? im going to most likely go with nitto 404s, but im not too familiar with how to read the dimensions

first number is tread width in millimeters. 255 is just at 10"
2nd number is aspect ratio. 70 is 70% of tread width is sidewall height
3rd is rim diameter

255/50/20 would be... 10 wide, 5" sidewall, 20+(2*5) or 30" tall.

wow i really appreciate that. im gonna have to bookmark this page. so for a 20x8.5 rim, and 4 inches of sidewall what would i need? the reason i ask is because i dont want to have to re calibrate my speedometer for bigger tires? or would 2 inches taller make me have to re-calibrate it?

You can go to a shorter sidewall. What diameter tire do you want? What size do you have on your truck right now?

BTW, 255/40/20 would be 28"

diameter tire...hm.. i guess 4 inches? is the diameter of the tire from one sidewall to the other? because then that would measure 28inches for what i wanted. b/c im getting 20's and i want four inches of tire from the top of the rim to the top of the tire.

maybe i should just get a package deal or something with those ss replicas. or go to a local tire shop to order my tires. because i dont want to order the wrong ones.

oh yeah would you feel it would be safe to order those wheels off of ebay? here they are again http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-Chevy-Si...sspagenameZWDVW

If you don't mind that they are replicas I would have no problem buying from that seller. He has over 2700 transactions and a 99.7% favorable history. That is very hard to beat. Shipping with tires will probably be major expensive. Check out local mom and pop tire stores around your area and see if they can get the wheels that WAC sells. THey can probably cut you a hell of a deal on a tire/wheel package. We bought a set of 18s and tires for the BWM for $700. Nobody else would sell us the wheels alone for that price.
