I'd appreciate some recommendations on a good motor shop in Texas. Allen is supposed to be checking w/ Nicken's for me.

That is a good deal considering at the cheapest you could get a rotating assembly for 2500 then 400 for machining and balancing. Then you got the cost of the block and then you got assembly so thats a good deal. Why would you need a good machine shop if you bought that engine just bolt stuff on after you get the block. Where are you located at? I could help you build it if you arent too far away? Its really not as difficult as everyone thinks it is I already have the bok with all the torque specs for the whole motor. Thats a damn good deal on a short block with a forged rotating assembly. Stay away from teh diamond pistons those damn things are heavy as hell. The ones I looked at were over a 100 grams heavier than my JE pistons.

I was reading in a magazine the other day. Have you seen that new LS7? Seems cool..maybe you should go look at a votec maxx at monument chevrolet. And just go from there. A good new crater would be cool.

World products now has a GenIII block that will build up to a 454ci engine. 427 isn't nothing any more. Check out their Warlock block!!!
