FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- Officers have surrounded a southeast Harris County home where a man suspected of shooting his former boss and that man's father at an oil change facility has refused to come out, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said the suspect shot the Universal Oil & Lube owner and his father in the chest shortly after noon on Friday at the car maintenance facility on Beamer Road near Hughes Road.

"I was in the back room clocking out to go to lunch and I heard the pops. I heard one pop and I turned around and looked and I saw flashes," witness Aarash Tanjani said.

Tanjani told KPRC Local 2 that he saw the suspect shoot one of the victims in the garage and then he walked into the office and shot the other victim.

The victims were conscious as they were transported to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition. Their identities have not been released.

"They are the best employers I've ever had … the nicest guys in the world. They would do anything for us. They're faithful to this community, outstanding citizens," Tanjani said.

The suspect fled the scene in a blue Suburban, but authorities quickly located the vehicle and the suspect inside a home in the 4800 block of Heritage Plains in Friendswood.

A SWAT team sealed off an area of the neighborhood and has been negotiating with the suspect to come out of the home for more than two hours.

Police said the man has refused to come out of the home.

Witnesses told investigators the shooting suspect, 23, was fired from his job at the oil change facility a couple of months ago.ar
