Wassup Yall, I'm going to see if yall can help me decide I'm tring to decide between a Rock-On Level 5 4L60e or just putting a 4L80 in there and letting it be over. Dave from Rock-On talks pretty highly about his Level 5 and it looks to be a really bad transmission and he said it can take alot of abbuse and would work really well with my setup. I have heard nothing but good things about Rock-On, I'm also going to bump my stall up to like a 3200 Precision probably. And finally the 4L60 will go right in and I want half to worry about re-flashing my computer and doing all the swapping that the 4L80e will require. Or do yall think I should go ahead and swap everything, I really don't think the 80e will be necessary right now. I'm around 500 rwhp mark, and going be running 3200 stall with ol Procharger. What do yall think...
He told me if the 4L60 didnt work out he would make me a heck of a deal on a 4L80 latter down the road.

Dave seems to be really knowledgable. He does things to his transmissions I have never heard of before. I went and visited with him at his shop and he is doing some cutting edge development on the 60E. I'd do the 60E so that more HP gets to the rear tires vs. the 80E parasitic losses due to mass. Did he tell you of the F-bodies that are running over 1000hp on his 60E builds?

Yeah he told me he had a 60e in 1000+rwhp F-body that had lasted like 60 runs at the track with no problems yet. hahaa Thats pretty amazing, I think I'm going to end up going with his level 5 4L60e and he told me he make me a heck of a deal on a Precision 3200 stall. If all else fails he told me later down the road when he gets his 4L80 program up and going really good he make me a heck of a deal on one of them, if the level 5 dont suit my needs. I appreciate the replies.....

I really dont like him. My experience with him put a bad taste in my mouth. I called him to ask about getting an 80e from him. He didnt know what all he puts in them and couldnt tell me off the top of his head. Told me he would call me back. Week later I call him back. He doesnt have the sheet in front of him AGAIN so he says let me have your email address and Ill email you the build sheet for it. That was about a month ago do you think Ihave the email. NO. If the man cant even call/email me back what is he going to do when I have a problem with his trans? I wont buy shit from that man it really pisses me off when people have poor customer service. I would rather buy a lesser product with damn good CS then a superior product with slim/no customer service. Buy one at your own risk you break it you may not be able to get ahold of him.

Hmmmm....you're the first I've heard have a problem with his CS. He is an extremely busy guy running two shops 80 miles apart from one another, one in Duncanville and the other in the Krum/Denton area. My last talk with him he was changing out all his employees because of thefts and incompetence. They put a brand new engine on his transmission dyno, fired it up and burned the thing up. They failed to put oil in it. What dumb-asses. Check out the posts on LS1Tech for feedback on his transmissions and CS. He also posts on there when there are automatic transmission questions posted though I don't know what his screen name is.

His screen name is Rock-On, My friend has been doing all the talkin with him, and Dave gave him his cell phone number so if he couldn't get ahold of him at his shop he could call him on his cell. I think I made up mine to try his 60e I just have to get my ducks ina row before I order it.. I appreciate the help...

HA, I started speaking of Dave and Matt a LONG time ago. Crazy how they're now just catching on...

I'd have no problem with a unit from them. There's a shop about 10-15min from me that only build performane units, I'm going to speak to them at some point.

FYI - an 80E would be badass with an ATI to stay in the power. You can get this from a 60E but need a fatass stall.
