why is it soooooo hard to find things for the 4.3, its so damn annoying. it was hard enough to find headers that fit my truck. let alone; say i wanted a turbo for it, they most likely dont even MAKE it for my truck. sorry im such a loser with a v6, but come on give me a break and make the same things for my truck as they do for the bigger ones. i dont know im just rambiling on about this in my head. i had to vent somewhere

Forget messing with the V6. You'll spend more money getting it as strong as a V8 than you will switching over to one. Get a complete salvage yard drop-out and swap over to a 6.0L.

yeah i know. dont worry when i get further into college ill start seriously searching for an ls1 or a 6 liter. this is just a question but, if you had my truck, would you keep it and do an engine swap, or look for another style body, like a stepside or something and then do an engine swap? bc would a 6 liter even fit in my truck? cuz i was thinking about just going ahead and keeping it, and before i do engine, maybe get some rims and lower it and make it "look nice" and then when i get alot of money saved up, start on the engine. any ideas on what ya'll would do if you had my truck?

If you're not emotionally attached to it, sell it and buy one already the way you like it. There are tons of them for sale with V8, killer stereos, custom wheels and already lowered. Let the seller eat the loss of the custom items.

. unless your emotionally attached to the truck. i can understand if its your first truck or something like that....but it will get way expensive!

i say dump that v6 off on someone and find a v8. the v6 dosent have much potential at all in a heavy ass truck

well of course im emotionally attatched to it, ppl shouldnt be on these boards if they arent emotionally attatched. this is my first chevy. well other then the s10 i had. but i mean this is my first true chevy silverado. and i really am in love with the dark silver.

i guess i should just make do with what i have and go from their. but i am DEFINATELY getting it tuned with the v6. mmmmm my truck is getting wet just thinking about it

and of course eventually find a v8 of some sort, whether it be an ls1 or a 6 liter. ill find one

Sounds like you need to find a turbo kit from a typhoon or Syclone 4.3L v6 gm truck that was turbo'd and put it on there. Sounds almost like a bolt on performance gain to me. Too bad GM didn't do that on any other vehicles other than the grand national, grand am and sunbird. Almost forgot about the 81 turbo transam.
