Ok so what could be my problem ??? Here's the situation : If the gear selector is in D or 3 nothing happens, but if I put the selector in 2 or 1 then I have manual 2nd or 1st. This is in a '99 GMC Sierra w/ a Transgo that was already installed before the rebuild and everything worked fine. New shift solenoids were installed, could this be my problem or the shift switch on the side of the tranny ??? Seems like something electrical to me...Zed

my 3 and 4 went out and it was the band inside the trans died and messed the clutch pack drum out. Did you install a Corvette servo or a longer 3-4 engage pin? I tried the solenoid tests per an ATSM before replacing them and mine tested good. I finally broke down and yanked the trans apart to find the dead band. What killed mine was 0% torque management banging the gears from 2nd to 3rd.

this is a freshly built trans we did yesterday, built it and then put it in, when i started it up the first time it was in 2nd gear "see not supposed to do that"(start in gear) put it in park then back to drive and nothing. We have reverse,2nd,1st, but nothing when in drive or third?

did you set the 3-4 band tension? Maybe the accumulator band pin is too short. Are you sure you got the check balls in the valve body in the correct place?

It was the forward input sprag, we were in a hurry to get the thing back together that we put the sprag in backwards. had to pull it back out and tear back into it to fix it but she's up and running now. New upgrades were a Z-Pak for the 3-4 and a high output pump spring w/ hardened rings for the pump. And get this I already have a 13 vane pump, in a '99 !!! Anybody know when they became standard in the 60e. I also toned down the 1-2 shift since I'm thinking the pressure won't be dropping off w/ the hi-rev spring kit in the pump, didn't want to break any hard parts. I think that is what smoked the 3-4 clutch pack, Blue Plate Specials at that, no pressure at 6500. Well thanks for all the replys guys I'll let yall know how she feels after I put some miles on her...Zed

13 vanes run quieter but don't output as much fluid as a 10 vane since the pump area is taken up by 3 more vanes. There isn't anything wrong with them though. Put the sprag in backwards, huh? I guess you wanted addition reverse gears?

Yeah since I did a burnout backwards, I wanted to see if I could improve my times by going down the whole 1/4 mile backwards. I hear front wheel posi's have all kinds of traction hahaha...lol j/k...Zed
