    If I got 3:73 Gears instead of my 3:42's How bad will that throw off My tune, Does it just need a Speedo Correction or do I have to Go back to see allen ? Truck goes into the shop on monday damage is @ $2,391.82, I have my choice of Gear ratio..... any thoughts? how big a hit Am I gonna take in mpg ? I get 20-21 crusin @ 85-90mph(tailgate down a/c off), Premium gas Cost too damned much!

    i say go with a 390. it will just need a small correction i think. kinda like changing tire sizes.

    4.10s all the way unless you have short tires. My tires were only 25" tall and kept my RPM pretty high. My 92 got 17 mpg with 4.10s and the 25" tires but I'm sure it's because how heavy the foot and the truck were. One bad side of high gears is that you put many more revs/miles on the engine than a low gear.

    On my 96 silverado reg cab stepside with 3.73's and a spool i got 18mpg and thats with the 350 vortec. I plan on going to a 3.73 with a powertrax or auburn posi unit as soon as i get my truck lowered some more.

    Went with another set of 3:42&#39;s (just cant afford to spend more on premium gas) and those assholes screwed me , gave me a 1 legger diff and the rear end that they dropped in has a bent axle I have been running around in the woods doing solider junk, and have not had time to Go bitch about it, but on the other hand the rebuilt trans is shiftin smoothly and runing well, I just hate watchin the Right rear wobble in my mirror&#33; (havent even driven the truck out of town yet, just dont trust it , or over 90mph for that matter&#33 Just got back from "traning" today, I will go give those fuckers a peice of my mind on monday
