I have been investigating the '05 elect fan set up for a while. Even purchased the fans and they are in the garage. Proved to myself that the new fans need the larger alternator, hooked up to the system and watched everything shu off. Looked around for the larger alternator trying to get a decent price. Found the 34" radiator new for $240 with three year warrenty. Waiting, planning, saving... Going on a 3 week, 5,000 mile vacation from Texas to Montana Next friday.

Then on the way home today I look down and watch the voltage go from 14 to 10 to 13 to 11 in a few seconds. Then the idiot light comes on showing the battery. Knowing that the 900 amp gel battery is 6 months old I know that I am going to get that alternator sooner than I wanted. So much for the extra money for vacation .....

Anyone want to share the misery??????

I keep thinking "And Boom Goes the Truck."

If you want the '05 elect fans you need the larger radiator, an alt lager than 105A, and the PCM programmed with a harness, period, end of your money, hit the wallet, yada yada....

Yep, gotta pay to play. No bones about that. More power means more broken parts. I like my pile of broken parts. The broken parts are like trophies. Just think of all the battle scar stories you get to tell about how you broke each and every part.

New lesson, don't go to far when you know the battery can't handle the load. The PCM will shut down none essential functions and then will sputter twice and die..... flat.... dead in front of some persons house.... ...... .... no door locks, no alarm...... deeaaddddd. . .. . . .

Did I say that I was going to get the new alternator in the dark??? no lights..... .... ... .. . . .. .
