    Howdy,

    I'm new to this board but if your a member on GMFS or ls1tech you probably read this already, but here are the results and problems im trying to figure out below.

    Air Temp: 63*F, Track Temp=???, 663ft Above Sea Level

    R/T=.696
    60FT=2.382
    330ft=6.766
    1/8th=9.736
    1000FT=13.472

    1/4ET=16.088
    1/4 Trap=85.109MPH

    the 16.088 is so slow because of it still being a completely stock 99 pcm while i should have my 01 tuned pcm from allen next week when i get my check.

    problem im trying to figure out is my 2-3 shift, it shifts SUPER low (like 2400rpm's or so) and im thinking that has something to do with my super low trap speed as well. the 1-2 shift still keeps 2nd at 3500 when it just shifted...besides my shift kit which is going in and hopefully going to solve the problem, and have allen raise the shift point an assload, what else could i do? should i be saving up for 3.73's instead of a 100shot from Texas Nitrous Technology?

    Truck mods:

    TB Bypass, straightpipe.

    Specs: 4.8L 173,xxxmi, stock tranny, 3.42 gears, non-posi, reg cab shortbed, on M+S type tires (soon to be M/T Drag Radials).

    Any idea's or actual solutions to the problem would be appreciated,
    Dave

    Man I will half to say those are pretty good 1/8 mile times for no more mods than you have on your truck as of right know, but yes I do agree your 1/4 mile times are a lil bet off. In case the 4.8 just don't pull hard on top end. I know before my supercharger my truck would shift out at 6200 from 1to 2nd, and thats when i ran my best times. When I backed it down 58-5900 my times drop about .10 in the 1/8.

    Not bad for a worn out 4.8L. Swap that 4.8 for a 5.7LS1 or 6.0 and you'll love the way it will pull.

    I think i figured this out tonight while i was doing some rough 1/4mi's outside of my house, and i feel pretty stupid about it to because i never thought of it.

    When i manually shift to 3rd (never put it in drive) apparently it still kicks into OD at a certain point. When i put the truck tow/haul mode it doesn't go into the "OD" at all in 3rd gear and it stays at around 3400-3600 when i shift. I plan on going to the track again on july 18th so hopefully my 1/4mi times improve by about .3sec.
