Xd tires and wheels for 3/4 ton 8 bolt

I have a buddy that has a 3/4 ton GMT900 and he wants to put some 18" XD alloys on it. What would be the right size for his setup. It is 2WD and he's concerned about tires rubbing.

is it a 2011 or 07-2010? 2011 changed bolt pattern. Should easily be able to run a 33'' tall tyer 305-325 wide he could possibly fit a 35 tall with correct back spacing but bumper will have to be trimmed and will still rub a bit on the sway bar. Now im not 100% sure on this but there is more clearance than a 01-07 and ive seen lowered on 35's with H2 wheels

I am sure it's a 2010 model. He's not wanting to make it look like a 4x4. He's just looking for some tough wheels to put on the truck and worried about diameter vs. width vs. offset.

Like Luke said, as long as it isn't an 11+ the bolt pattern should be 8x6.5. Most 18" XD wheels are going to be 9" wide. It doesn't sound like the guy wants to stuff the biggest tires possible underneath it, but more just have the truck look good. In that case, I'd do a ~33" tire like a 285/65/18 Nitto Terra Grappler.

Sounds good. Told him i am running 285-50-20 with no clearance issues and he would be fine with 275 or 285 - 65 - 18. Damn michelin tires cost a fortune for e load rated tires, thats what he wants to run. Its a 2009 model with super low miles. Tires will rot off before being worn off.
