Can any one explain what torque management is, and how it works?
Can any one explain what torque management is, and how it works?
It has to do with how much torque the engine produces during shifts. It retards ignition timing to decrease power while shifting gears in an automatic transmission to prolong the life of the internal parts.
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709
Torque Management limits the torque output to the wheels by pulling timing and closing the TB.
You'll experience hesitation off the line and between shifts. Removing it puts more abuse on the trans, but I believe removing TM doesn't break the trans, abuse does. GM just needs to make them stronger.

Allen removed 100% of TM in my engine and trans and have no problems at all so far in my tranny with 98k+ on it now. Just dont abuse it all the time and youll be fine.
