One last item I need to get is a deep tranny pan before before installing my new servos, Transgo, etc. I think cast aluminum is the way to go, but some of the prices are pretty steep for "just a tranny pan".

I just ran across this piece, less than $100 list:

    LPW Transmission Pan

I think it adds at least 2 qt capacity and comes w/ the filter extension. I just fired off an e-mail to LPW asking about that.

Anybody got a take on this product. It's a really nice price for the cast aluminum type.

Okay I'm just so impatient, but I've got no repsonse from my e-mail to LPW yet

I found a joint on eBay that sells 'em too. Sent e-mail asking same questions. No response yet

I got a pile of pretty new tranny parts sitting in a box, ready to go, and this is my last item on the list. Oh, what the hell, time to login to eBay and buy this sucker. I pretty sure it would include the filter extension, and hoping no mod is needed for the dipstick.

why would you buy a deep tranny pan and then lengthen the dipstick? Wouldn't that be counter productive?

Okay, so it took about 3 weeks to get the LPW 4L60E cast aluminum pan, but it looks like it was worth the wait.

It's a quality cast job, very heavy duty. Nice fasteners and gasket. Flush, magnetic drain plug. Holds 2 extra quarts. It includes a SPX Filtran F296 filter. $105 including shipping.

I got it from a joint on eBay, but if you're interested it might be easier to buy it directly from LPW. The eBay guy basically charged me list price and $12 for shipping.

Here's a few more on Cardomain
