Im helping a local shop rebuild some vettes that got wrecked. The block is trash and he is wondering if he can buy a LS2 block and put the rotating assembly in the LS2. If it will work what has to be done

cant use the piston as the bore is much larger. you would have to resleeve the Ls2 block to use those pistons. the rods and cranks are the same

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
Thought they were the same but wanted to make sure before he spent a grand on a block.
only makes sense to buy an ls3 block to replace a damaged ls3 block. About the only other option would be to buy an LSX block and that would be way more money and hardly worth the investment. Have him call Bishop Automotive in Dallas, they get those blocks every once in a while, the LS3s.

He talked to one of his parts suppliers and they cant get new ls3 blocks and he doesnt want to spend more than 1k on the block. I told him they are stamped with liter on the block but thats the way he wants to do it.
Could use a l92 block
