    Job Openings

    Hey All,

This is mainly for the San Antonio and surrounding areas. But I am just inquiring for any job openings that you guys may know of. I have scanned the HELL out of craigslist and job postings. This is for my father. It's getting pretty bleak out there. He's a damn hard worker, but the company sold out and moved to South Carolina and he's been on unemployment since Dec of this year. His unemployment is about to run out, so its getting pretty desperate.

Looking for a skilled trade/machinist anything in that area. Pay can be anywhere from $10-$20. Basically looking for anything that is available. Shipping/receiving, forklift operator, CNC machinist, welder, ANYTHING.

Let me know if you have anything open. Thanks for the help guys

wow, that's tough. Has he tried Humanetics? They have a pretty big machine shop there north of Austin and do some cool stuff. They are a medical manufacturer specializing in bone replacement parts like hips, knees and things like that.

To bad he's not from Mississippi, there's no such thing as an unemployed machinist in this area.

Ducky, has he considered working out on the base? Lackland, Randolph, and Ft Sam Houston are all right there. Go to http://nafjobs.org/ , once there use the drop-down menu in the top right, Scroll down to Tx then choose the base. Saw a couple vehicle operator and General Mechanic jobs on Lackland. Pay isn't great, ($10-$12), but it's something.

He's mid 50s, thats whats really putting a damper on him finding a job. He's sharp as hell, and still going strong, but gets passed up because of his age.
