I would think you're about 420 HP at the crank with that setup. Purely just a guess. That's about the same setup that PHR magazine did a buildup on a 5.7L with no accessories and they put out over 400 hp. Get a meziere electric water pump and free up some HP lost through the parasitic water pump. When you drag or are on the dyno, pull the fan belt to free up at least another 20 HP. Will be hard to steer but should be worth the power. Don't pull the belt if you brake booster is hydraulic and driven off the power steering, though. I wouldn't even guess the HP rating with the

A good set of heads will get you about 500 with every thing you have already. You have to get the right set though. I'd go for a set of AFR heads. I'd call them and tell them what all mods you currently have and what your goal is. They will fix you up with what would be required to reach it. Your motor is capable of the numbers, just have to put out the dollars. Keep an eye on PHR and GM high tech magazines. They are building up 6.0L LS2s for max naturally aspirated HP right now. The LS2s only advantage over the Vortech/LS1 is the LS6 head ports.

I've never used anyone's aftermarket heads. They all could possibly do the job, I just like the reputation AFR has and the fact that their heads are cast with extra material at the mating surface. You don't have to worry so much about destroying one of AFRs heads. Check out the performance sectioon in LS1Tech.com to find guys that have run other brands of heads and how they like them. As for intakes, I like any of them that will create a forced air induction at highway/track speeds. Don't bother descreening a stock MAF sensor, it will cause you more headaches than good.

Underdrive pulleys free up horsepower. They don't actually make any horsepower. You will sacrifice cooling and charging abilities in many instances. For the minimal gain it's really not worth it on a street driven vehicle, IMO. I hear gains of like 10 hp. Spend the money on an electric water pump instead, you'll free up HP since you won't have parasitic losses from the pump friction and the drag from pushing the water through the system. You'll also stay cooler on hot days without having to rev the engine to make the water flow through the engine.

Meziere is the only brand I know of. There may be more now. I think Summit was going to market a house brand pump. Any of the mail order houses will have the pump....Jegs, Summit, SLP, Thunder Racing...... shop around. Jegs and Summit usually ship for free so that offsets some of the costs.
