    Sloooooooow!!! Time for some improvements.

I took my truck to the midnight drags in tulsa last night. Had a great time until this guy in a newer mustang threw a rod at the eighth and kept rolling all the way down the track. He left an eighth mile long oil slick that took an hour to clean up. Anyway my truck (description in sig) ran a 16.17 at 83 on the first timed run and a 16.24 at 83 on my second and last run of the night. Pretty slow but not too shabby for a 15 year old stock truck I think. I raced a dodge quad cab with a hemi and jumped out to a half truck lead at the light and pulled out to about a two truck length lead on the big end.

Pretty happy with my baseline, but now it's time to go faster.

In all honesty, you are going to drop more money making that 5.7 run 14s than you would to swap in an LS 5.3 or 6.0 and go run them in stock form. There are plenty of us here that are close to you that can help.

I don't have the funds for a motor swap right now. I do plan on a motor swap after college though. It's just not in the cards for me at this time. I figured a tune and rear end work would be a good place to start. and do stuff that will help me when I do finally swap motors.

Unfortunately, not much is going to help you other than trans work and rear end work when it comes time to swap to an LS.

Could do a set of 4.10s, a Truetrac, 3200 stall and that will likely drop you .2 on your times.

I figured an lsd and some gears would help. I've got some tranny work done. It's been rebuilt and has a transgo shift kit and bigger boost valve. My builder talked me into putting a lower stall converter in it for gas mileage. It's like a 1200 stall I believe. It's really nice for city driving and it did help a tad with mileage. A higher stall with lockup would be nice as I do mostly highway driving now. The only city driving I'll do is back and forth to class during school.

AHHHH piss on a lower stall. Get a 3200-3600 in there!

Everyone keeps throwing up the nitrous thing. Lol How big of a shot do you think the stock motor could take safely? Wet shot of course and I would have a nitrous tune done for sure.
