    Nelson Performance tune ?'s

Question 1: On the NP website it states:

"To better serve our customers, Nelson Performance will ship you a Performance PCM (excludes LS2 and '07 trucks)." However, I have seen some members on here with NNBS trucks that do not live anywhere near NP. Is the statement listed above false or are these members driving their trucks out to NP?

    Question 2:

Also, after I get my truck tuned and let's say I make more mods, Can I get a retune for free? I have read mixed answers from different postings.

    Question 3:

WHat does the tune cost? For my application (2007 5.3 ccsb) there is not a price

I think the reference was to that HP hasnt released specific settings for the 07? But I believe those are finally out. I am not entirely sure on that, need to double check with them, but he ships no matter where you live. If it fits it shits. You can get up to 5 retunes for free a year. 5 is a somewhat arbitrary number, only because they dont want you calling in every week to change shift points or something ridiculous like that. A bolt on tune runs you like 300 bucks, give or take, but if you were to get a tune for a cammed motor, forced induction, etc. then that runs close to 500. SO say you cam your truck later in the year, it might be a small upgrade charge, but thats only for the tune, and retunes are free either way. Cammed, or just bolt on. But its only when you do that step up. Comprende?

I'm in the process of updating the site.
The cost is $300 and includes free retunes.
we ship you a pcm when a retune is needed and you return your core within 21days, if not, you keep both and we charge you.
there is a $100 upgrade fee if your truck enters the himod category, but after that, retunes are free forever.

we usually charge himod costs for forced induction, heavy cams and heads.

even mild and light cams are considered lightly modded.

Sweet! Will the dealer know if the computer has been altered? I have asked around and apparently if the computer is altered the warranty will be voided. The reason I am concerned about this is because I want to get my 4l65 replaced (it's trash) by the dealer. Then immediately remove and replace the 4l65 with a 4l80 myself so i can sell a pretty much brand new 4l65 or just store t if i ever decide to put my drivetrain into something else.

    Thanks Allen

A retune with HPT and EFIlive is essentially invisible unless the tech has a sharp eye and notices changes. Handhelds (most) leave a signature.

The techs computer finds the mod. Not the tech himself. Nathan was writing a tune to my pcm and it saw my previously altered tune and told him to report it to gm.
