My friend has a '99 K3500 w/ the 6.5 diesel. When the wait to start light turns off the doors lock, and when the ignition is turned off the doors unlock. My friend wants his to behave like mine, so that when it's taken out of park it locks and when it's put into park it unlocks. Mine is reprogrammable, and I was wondering if there was any way I could reprogram his???

I believe the 99's are the odd man out. Mine lock when put into drive but never unlock automatically. I have to unlock em every time. Tyler gave me a key and button combo to do but it would never change the setup.

About the only way I can think of to do it in that truck is to turn off the automatic locks(if possible), and wire in a couple relays to the neutral safety switch and drive indicator(if there is a wire that has a signal when the truck is in drive). In other words, it's more trouble than it's worth.
