    Need some serious muffler help!!!

Well the past few weeks ive decided I needed to get rid of my crappy sounding flowmaster which happend to sound even worse after I installed my LTs, but needless to say the past couple weeks ive been going back and fourth on figuring out which muffler I want to run I was looking at some magnaflows and the hooker aero chamber and if I got lucky and came across a corsa I was going to buy that. Well I made an idiot mistake of buying a dynomax bullet to see how it would sound and what a mistake that was I put it on yesterday and just dumped it under the bed and its just annoying I dont know what the heck I was thinking I mean at some RPM ranges it sounds alright but at WOT its just a rasp machine! The way I look at it now though is oh well it was only 43 bucks or so so ill either try to sell it or just take a loss of 40 bucks on it. But now I need some good suggestions on a new muffler. Really leaning towards a magnaflow now but Im just not sure which one to get since there are so many different ones. What Im looking for sound wise is something that has a good V8 tone at cruising speeds and then really comes alive at WOT but also would like very little rasp. Its a 04 silverado with a 5.3 and as far as engine stuff all I have right now is pacesetter ceramic long tubes and their ORY and a CAI and a nelson tune. But any suggestions would be awesome. Im open to all suggestions such as single or dual outlets but it would have to be a 3in single inlet. Sorry for the long rant of a post!

I have a magnaflow catback on my rig, and granted I don't have LTs and an ORY but it has a deep tone, and doesn't rasp one bit. My friend has a TBSS with LTs and an ORY with a corsa catback, and it rasps pretty nasty. It has a nice idle and all, but at WOT it sounds like an fbody with their nasty ass rat-a-tat-tat sound. The aerochamber would be a little better than a flowmaster, but not much better. I would probably recommend the magnaflow catback, and maybe running it all the way back behind the right rear wheel one pipe coming out of the side. That's how mine is, and I'm happy with it. We'll see how it goes when I buy the ebay headers everyone seems to love so much.

I dont really want to buy an entire catback system since I already bought the flowmaster catback system that exits in front of the rear tire so I already have the 3in intermediate pipe so my plans as o now is to get some sort of magnaflow with a 3in inlet then have it come out before the rear tire. Any idea which magnaflow muffler you have such as round case or oval case and how long it is?

This is the exact catback I have, the muffler is sweet for a DD.

I like the fact that its all stainless too. I just want to make sure that whatever magnaflow I buy isnt too quiet I like it to be decently loud but a good sounding loud.

Yaaa I was just looking at those, they are just pretty pricey so if I were to buy one Id want to make sure or be assured Id like it. The way I see it is I have LTs so I want to be able to hear them I want the truck to be lound but sound good not loud full of rasp. Like the loudness of the bullet I just put on is alright but at WOT it rasps like crazy and when you lug it around it has the worst drone I dont think it could drone any worse to he honest. But I have to get another muffler quick. Part of me wants to meet in the middle and get some sort of magnaflow since I dont really feel like spending almost 200 bucks on a borla. Ahhh I dont know what to do this shouldnt be this difficult, keep the suggestions coming

Install an STS turbo muffler, they're kind of pricey but right out of the box they add 35% more HP to your ride.

I have a 3" DI/DO magnaflow oval style muffler on the OBS and it sounds sweet at idle and will scream at WOT. The larger pipe you run the deeper the rumble will be.

Well Im defenitly going to do 3in I cant really do DI because I have the pacesetter ORY right now. The flowmaster I had before was 3in inlet and dual 2.in outlets which exit before the rear tire I was kind of thinking doing a SI/SO 3in and just have one tip coming out before the rear tire or just dump it under the truck. Im just having trouble picking a muffler that will be somewhat loud but still have a good deep rumble and little rasp.
