    Exclamation fuel delivery

I'm hoping that I can get some help summing all this up in one place.
I have an 81 GMC SWB w/dual tanks and converting to just one driver side tank. I am installing an '05 Silverado 5.3L motor into it.
My question is... do I need the corvette filter (wix# 33737)? Also, I am converting to the 87 gas tank but what sending unit and fuel pump do i use? I have read somewhere that the dorman 692027 sending unit and the AC Delco EP381 fuel pump should be used but is it necessary to do individual parts or can I just install something like the Spectra SP05M1H into it?
Thanks for the help and this site rocks!

The WIX filter is the most economical solution to providing a self contained filter/regulator to a returnless fuel rail, providing 58 PSI to the rail. Most guys go with a Walbro GSS340 255LPH pump, better price and higher volume of flow.

if you have the original dropin in unit, you can replace the pump with the walbro, just remove the old pump from the unit, install the walbro in its place, solder the connections and shrink wrap them and install new fuel line from the pickup to the pump and from the pump to the top of the assembly. then you will have the 255lph pump installed just like the factory unit, it would also be a good time to test the sending unit and inspect it closely if you are re-using the original

you can buy a replacement unit on ebay for probably 80 dollars and just replace the pump that comes in it

To sum it up - Just buy a Walbro pump and put it in the 87 pump assembly then plug it in and go.

Don't mean to bring an old thread up from the dead, but this is exactly what I am going to do for my swap, the only issue I see is that the sender I got for a TBI pump has clamp-on style hoses. What are you guys doing to adapt from that to an AN style fitting??

    Thanks!
