    -40 pounds in three months

Just excited so figured I would share. At the beginning of February I weighed 290 lbs. I jumped on the scale this morning and weighed 250lbs. I lost 40 lbs in 3 months with diet alone. I am starting a strict exercise regimen today. I have 15 more to lose by june 12. Ultimately I want to get down to 200 or lower but I'm not sure it will be possible, at 235 I look like someone who weighs 190ish.

its not strictly dieting that will help, but cutting certain foods out that also do the trick. Fried food, fast food, sodas. I do lots of home cooked meals with simple ingredients, and/or bbq'ing.

As far as exercisign goes, make sure you get into a program that you really like, so you dont get bored with it and lose focus. Like if there are local running/exercising groups in your area. It just makes it that much easier to get the work done.

Yessir! In February I pretty much eliminated pork and beef from my diet. I still eat the occasional steak for protien but I cook all of my own food that needs cooking. For the most part I've eaten turkey sandwiches for lunches and dinners and fruits and veggies for 10am and 3pm snacks. I usually eat cheerios, granola bars, or oranges for breakfast. I won't eat fast food anymore period, that stuff is all trash food. I've also been doing all of the metabolism boosting tricks; jalapenos, coffee, and whole grain bread.

My buddy wants me to do p90x with him, so I'm gonna try that out. He lost like 50 lbs in two months with it. I've been walking for the last few months to help out. I'm still too fat to run without hurting my knees and back so my goal is to get where I can do that. Thanks for the advice man.

p90x knocked 20 lbs off of me in a month. i also replaced beef with chicken and turkey. ground turkey actually tastes better than beef. turkey burgers, turkey in my spugetti, turkey sausage...its good shit and very good for you. more protien than steak i think.

i need to get back onto the p90x and actually stick with it for 90 days. the changes i saw in 1 month were crazy.

Its hard to keep with the program the longer it goes on when you are by yourself

I was 145 on new years, hit 175 on april 3, back down to 165 now. I do it more for lifting then anything, but ya... feels good.

congrats on the 40lbs! But from a 'health' standpoint, your body can generally only lose 2lbs of fat a week. 3 months = 12 weeks...so thats about 24-30lbs of fat. So more then likely, you lost about about 10lbs of muscle too. Might want to slow down the process a LITTLE or you won't be able to pick up a wrench soon lol.

For most people the magic number is about 500 calories below maintenance
