Thread: Silverado SS driveshaft

  1. #1

    Silverado SS driveshaft

    FRONT SHAFT
Used this shaft when I converted to awd. Not a thing wrong with it other than I went 4l80 and it no longer fits. Lucky for me my original front shaft fit. The black shaft is for sale on a diff thread, not this thread.

$110.00 shipped to the lower 48.
    Part number 15186002

So your z71 front shaft was long enough for the 80e and awd trans case, if so I've got one I need to put up for the future

how did the SS shaft not fit? with the reg 4x4 shaft did the trans shifter linkage work out or how are you going about that? seems to be the only problem on mine the shaft hits the linkage.

The front SS shaft is shorter than the 4x4 one, becuase the 149 is shorter than the 4x4 cases.

i know this im wondering about the diameter. with the 80e and the SS shaft the linkage hits the drive shaft because its to fat

also my ss shaft was long enough probably not the perfect length but there is still plenty long

Both shafts were really close. The difference was the length. Nothing else. I did elongate the holes on the shifter cable bracket to make it fit and flipped the lever around so it bent more toward the trans. Works fine.
