    My 4L60E sob story.....

Well it was a lovely morning around 5:45 as I was heading to the gym. Stopped to get a water and a granola bar, backed out of my spot and continued back onto the main road. Think i was jamming to some Lady Gagga when the truck down shifted into second and felt/heard a boom like when gears jump. Meh.... just continued cause it was still accelerating. Bout a mile up the road I loaded a CD and the silence let me here the low sound of a whining/grinding coming from underneath the truck. Slowed down and pulled into a empty lot. Crawled underneath with it in park and the same noise is there. Went to back up and ...Nope!! No reverse for you! Had to maybe drive through a yard....Was gonna try to limp it home but no upshift out of first. I believe it's dead.

Why does this crap always have to happen when you are trying to save cash. Yet another setback in getting a construction loan to get this house underway. Wouldn't mind too much but got the lil one due end of July. Maybe our Pres can help me out??

    End rant......

I feel your pain too. I just got through dumping about $3000 between my truck and computers at the house. Had to refinance the truck so I could leave my savings alone.

Sounds exactly like what my 4L65e did. Shifted to 2nd, LOUD BANG. First and 3rd only after that. Mine would skip second and shift to 3rd, so I made it home. That rattle can grinding you hear is the sun gear shell. Chances are you can just replace that with a beast unit and be good. Mine rough up the teeth on the sun gear too, so I replaced it as well.
I did it in mine and its working like a champ again. If you have the time and a place to do it yourself, it is a pretty cheap repair and not hard at all.

I can only imagine what you looked like jamming lady gaga down the street, with your truck making all kinds of noise!

Ahem, I am sorry for your misfortune. I hope you get things squared away.
GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT RICER MATH!
