    Newbie from Indiana

Well I was told to post here and tell something about myself and my ride, Well I am the old man at the drag strip, I am retired military and started racing when I was 15, Racing motorcycle on dirt with my dads AMA card and then to the drag strip with a M/P Honda, In 1971 I started racing super stock a 1970 Camaro built and worked on ''All the time'' by the late Mickey Thompson, I gave that up in 1973 and said I was done with racing and then in 03 I saw a red SSR and fell in love with it so in 04 I got one a yellow one but after driving it what a dog, I was ashame to take people a ride so a guy said you should put a Magna Charger on this so I did and then it was fun and the guy that was tunning it said you know you should go back to the strip on a test and tune and make a few runs and it would be easier to tune, I didn't know anything about a test and tune so I went and it wasn't bad it run like a 13.80 at 101 and it was fun and didn't cost a arm and a leg, Well I hurt the tranny so I had it rebuilt and a new converter and then it was running 13.50 and I was having more fun with it than anything else so I run it every Wednesday for 3 years and added headers and then put a alky spray on it so I could run pump gas and a gallon of alky would last me about 20 or 30 runs and that got it in the 12's, A best of 12.70 for a 4880 pound truck with a LS base 5.3, It was running on the rich side so I thought I would tune the alky down and broke a piston, It just cost so much to rebuild the 5.3 the way I wanted so I got a LS6 block with a Eagle stroker crank and H rods and a set of 225 Dart heads and put that in it, Well I am writing a book so I will add my built later, Here is a video of a run before we started getting the tune and my other car a 87 Grand National

Yes it was a fun truck to drive but then it would just blow the tires off anytime you touched the gas, I got a set of 17 inch wheels and a set of M&H drag radials and that worked pretty good but that run in the video bent the stock control arms so I got a full set of BMR control arms and then made another run and it hooked and lifted the right front tire just a little and twisted the rear end, I race with the Moser man and we were talking and I told him I was just going to put a trailblazer SS rear under it and he said it is made like the SSR, Won't hold so he built me a 9 inch locker that would hold over 2500 rwhp for about the same as a TBSS, Then back to the track and made a run and broke a rocker, I am running the Comp LS6 Pro-Magnum 1.85 rocker that cost $500, It is still spring and I want to run the pinks at Indy and the super chevy, So I call Comp and they say well one rocker is special order and take I think he said 4 to 8 weeks or MORE, So I get another set and put it on and back to the track and it pulled hard through 1st. and 2nd. but noised down in 3rd. and run 11.80 at 113 so I didn't run it anymore and had a friend take it to a shop and the guy was going to dyno tune it, So he put it on the dyno and said first we will get a base line, so he run it a little past 2,000 rpm's and it was at 538 to the rear wheels and he said lets see what it has and as soon as he hit the gas it broke another rocker, This could be a book so I will add to it if anyone reads it
