    Feeler: 1994 ext cab 1500 w/ 2002 5.3/4l60E installed - Central Florida

Life isnt doing me any favors lately, and I just dont have time to finish the swap. Engine/trans are in, frame is notched for stock truck compressor, sitting on mounts and trans crossmember. manifolds fit, needs exhaust. everything is in minus exhaust and wiring. wiring is there but needs the 5 wires hooked up for gauges, and figure out why the OBD-II port wont connect to computer. truck starts and idles fine, but if you rev it falls down and dies. needs a couple stupid things, but mainly wiring finished or a new harness. Thinking $2500. truck is rust free, but needs cleaning and a couple small interior parts.

truck has about 250k on it, motor/trans have just under 100k.

HERE is the link to the pictures I have right now. I can get more, and later when I have more time I will post up many more details.

DEAL FELL THROUGH. $1750, COME GET IT

Did you swap the fuel pump out? Sounds like you're losing fuel pressure possibly, most commonly the hose connecting the pump to the pickup tube blows if you use the wrong quality hose on the high pressure pump. Put a pressure gauge on it and monitor the pressure when you rev it.

I'd keep it and work on it as time allows. I have one in my driveway that is being done as time and initiative allows.

Fuel pump changed, in tank. I used the hoses and whatnot that came with it.

Fuel pressure is good, when pump is on it is ~53psi.

It is a tune thing, I know it is, because rear o2 have been deleted, and a couple other things. It has been sitting in my driveway for over a month now, havent touched it.

Frankly, at this point I could use the money more than the truck. I bought a $500 1988 F150 just to use as a truck for the time being.

At any rate, just throwing it out there. If I can get $2500 for it, that is fine by me. Having 6 cars at my house with a 1 car driveway and no garage makes parking a PITA, especially when one is just sitting there.

none of my business, but it sounds like you could have finished the truck for around $500 and had a much better truck.

still can, but have zero time. that is why i havent messed with it in over a month. 70 hour work weeks leave no time for anything.

if there is no interest in it, its no big deal. I am off this weekend, if I can get some time between pulling the motor out of my race car and valentine's day, I plan on pulling the wiring and redo'ing the fuse box to hopefully solve the engine problems.

Man, I understand your situation and that sucks but I dont think you should give up on it yet. Pop on over to the lsx conversion section and I bet you can get some help there. I hate to see a project with such great potential get so close and then stop.
BUT i do have a friend that may be interested in this so Ill pass it on to him.

Also, isnt what its doing the symptom of not having VATS removed? Thought I remember reading that somewhere but I could be way off.

vats normally lets it run for a few seconds and dies. If the PCM has not been tuned to remove the VATS security system then it will die and die

See Specv44, good guys like Red are helping already. Well its not the VATS......did I read somewhere else that if the pcm doesnt get the right signals from the trans then it wont let it get out of its idle tables?

PS - Didnt I see this truck on youtube running and revving?

nope, i have no videos of it.

it will idle all day long, that isnt the problem. The biggest problem is this: I was able to connect to the ECU, remove VATS, and never again have been able to connect to the ECU with my HP Tuners. I have checked all my fuses, ensured I had a fuse in the cigarette lighter socket, and tried another ECU. I moved the OBD-II port from where it was, re-soldered all the connections, and used the battery as 12v and ground, still didnt work.

Went out this weekend, changed the oil in it, fired it up and let it idle for about 10 minutes.

Wife said I can get a new truck if I get rid of the 94 and the 88 Ford, thinking 2004+ Silverado/Sierra.

    Any interest out there?
