How many are running true duals?

How many guys are running true duals on their LS engine? I had always heard that these engines lose HP from true duals. Is that true? The reason I ask is I have a Tahoe and when I perform my swap, I'll have to redo the exhaust.
Well because I have a 2dr I can run a single pipe down each side behind the long tubes. I will be using high flow cats and magnaflows.

Will it rob horsepower? Would it be better to do a y-pipe, or just do the above and connect an H or X pipe? Or just run without an H/X pipe
The engine will have a mild cam and mild headwork, with the normal bolt ons.

I have a dual in/out magnaflow with a built in x on mine, I saw the same times at the track as I did with the single flowmaster. I'm slower than molasses anyway though.

i run 3" without any type of X or cross ( muffler ) true duals, but with your hp i would go no bigger than 2.5 in pipe size but it would be cheaper if you can use pass. and driver side, plus its less bending or less bends

Exactly. If you want true duals, only go as big as 2.5" and run an x-pipe. If no duals, merge the exhaust into a 3" y-pipe and run a single 3" pipe back...

duals it is then, I can just run them straight back from the headers. a single 2.5" on each side.
That will make the exhaust installation a whole lot easier
    thanks

    I'd add the x pipe.
