    sup yall!
i'm looking forward to getting the nelson tune after my mods are done when i get back home from the middle east. can my pcm be tuned for two different tire sizes? i plan on getting some 255/70/16's for the street and some street et's 26/10.5 or 26/11.5 for the strip. if the tune can only tune for one tire size, can the hypertech still be used for the other tire size?

    holla back at me

    thanks,

    lance

You will love your Nelson's tune! THE PCM will only tune for one size at a time. The hypertech will work great for the tire size change on the fly. I use a different size slick at the track and don't worry about changing the PCM for that.

Do all of us a favor and don't worry about how fast you are going on the strip. That is what the time clock is for. The 1/10 of a second it takes you to glance down to see how fast you are going could be the difference between life and death when racing.
I would only worry about the speed accuracy when on the highway. You won't get a speeding ticket at the track.

It should work fine with both sets of tires without the correction for the speedo. I would think the shift points would only need to be corrected if you had a gearing change not with a tire change. You can try it with your hypertech and see if there is any change at the strip.

The pcm does not know if you change tires or gears. It will shift when it was programmed to shift, by rpm and speed parameters set by LS1Edit. The engine will operate just fine with the different tire size for racing. You could have Allen program your PCM and then buy yourself a cheapo handheld to change your minor alterations later for track tires.

once allen tunes the rpm shift points for my motor, the engin will shift at that rpm with both sets of tire sizes, right?

i think a big thing that blue cajun is worried about is not only shift points with different tires but by using a shorter slick the truck shutting off on the top end unless nelson tune moves that speed limiter way up. i dont know how high can allen move that up whats the max mph

I was told by Allen that he usually sets the limiter to 135....I have no need to hit that so its fine by me!
