I was sitting here trying to figure out my 1/4 mile time from my 1/8th times. The calculation that they use to estimate the times just sounded odd to me. What was it? 1.5832 X 1/8 time? That would put my truck, as-is, at 15.056 in the 1/4. That sounds like a high estimate.

    My calculation.....

    5280 ft / mile
    1320 ft / quarter mile
    660 ft / eighth mile
    75 miles/hr = 75 x 5280 ft/hr = 396,000ft/hr = 396,000/60min/60sec = 110ft/sec

If my 1/8 mile trap speed is 75 mph then I am traveling 110 feet / second. If I did not increase one more mile per hour for the entire next 1/8 mile it would take me 6 seconds to get to the finish line resulting in a trap time of 15.51 seconds.

I guess they think we hit a wall for increased acceleration at the 1/8 mile mark?

    Do the numbers make sense?

1/8 mile time X 1.56 that should get it.

14.83, then. Still sounds high but I guess I just need to get to a 1/4 mile track and try it out. Now if I can just get the guys at the body shop to work on mine instead of everyone else's so I can drive it. I guess you have to be patient when you are paying only $1000 to paint and assembly the entire front end, repaint other places that need touch-up and paint the tonneau cover.

There are soooo many factors involved like traction ect. but I went back through my old time slips and with a 9.51 1/8th I ran a 14.69 1/4. On another run a 9.54 came out to be a 14.7 1/4.
