Are the Dynatech SuperMaxx headers coated,or does
it really matter if any type of header is coated?

When I purchased mine I was told that they do NOT need to be coated, because they are stainless steel.
However, I imagine if you want to reduce under-hood tempratures, then a ceramic coating could not hurt, mine are going on just how they are.

I'd coat them... reduced underhood temps are always a good thing.
Jet Hot is a great place but costs a grip. Shop around locally to see if anyone can do the same coating to save on shipping costs.
Coating is not only for non-Stainless products. The exhaust I did on my WRX was Stainless but I had it coated... underhood temps were reduced vastly.

Anyone ever tried the thermal wrap tape? It looks like crap but keeps the headers insulated just as the ceramic coating would and it's not terribly expensive.

Looks like I'll be geting some ASMs,there only 30 bucks more than
the SuperMaxx I found at Jeg's ! (and the ASMs are coated, the SuperMaxxare not)

ASMs coating is VERY poor. It doesn't seem to last for whatever reason. I'd see if they'll sell you a pair uncoated so you can farm the out to be coated yourself...

I would take the Supermaxxx over the ASM's any day...coated or uncoated.
I would buy the Supermaxxx and get them coated elsewhere.
