    Driving cross country

So I'll be relocating from Cali to Florida probably in early January - Finally getting my honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. I'm leaning towards doing the U-Haul thing with my truck on a trailer behind it. From what I can tell, a lot of people on here are in Texas. Just wanted to know if anything excited will be going down in Texas during January. Also, are there any motels I should stay away from in Texas when I pass through?

I appreciate the offer. Google is telling me to take 10 all the way through Texas - looks like I'll pass through San Antonio and Houston. I suppose I could take a detour through Dallas if we can do a meet or something.

Couple guys on here are from SA including. i might be able to let you crash for a night here if wifey is ok with it. i always do what i can to help out fellow marines. if you do stay at a hotel/motel stay away from motel 6, bad experiences

First off, get a AAA membership. Next, stay at Super8 motels and get their discounts. Take advantage of all of AAA travel discounts, plan your route to work it best. Use their triptik program to plan your route. Its the best $80 or so you'll ever spend especially if anything goes wrong on your trip, they will take very good care of you and even put you up in a hotel on their dime if your trip is delayed. Visit family along the way if you can, those memories will be priceless. Try not to travel over 600 miles per day. Have a safe trip and if you need help around Denton, log online and drop me a line.

Thanks Red, I appreciate it. At this rate I think I'm gonna need phone numbers when the time is near.
