The 00 twin truck is just about to be finsihed and running. I have an 02 pcm from my old 2500 that came with the 80e. Can this pcm be swapped in. I was told the 02 had a faster processor in it.

I have an o2 pcm in my truck. Needed more credits from HP tuners. Also the 80e will need more credits if you are using one. Only other thing is a cel for the alternator cause the newer pcm has a wire from it to the alt. Nelson Perf hooked me up with everything I needed.
99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.
Is that a truck issue for needing more credits for an 80e? I have a LS1 tune in my 02 PCM and it only required two credits for the tune and the 80e transmission overlay. Needed an additional 1 credit for the SD tune though.
The 2002 PCM will work perfect for the 2000 truck. As you heard it does have a faster processor. I have one running my setup that was originally a 1998 Fbody.

That's what I've always been told, faster. As time moves fwd, cpu speeds increase.

Ya, it's compatible, and sometimes a better pcm.

you can reflash the 00 pcm with the 02 file.
a 02 3/4 ton truck computer shouldnt need any extra credits to control an 80 when it comes stock with it
there is a guy named slow67 that found a way to not need the use of overlay or to send your file to HP to have them make the hybrid. he uses a stock 60e file and works a few things and has his 80e working in his camaro
also a 00 pcm has a secondary VE table where as the 02 only has a primary which is a much better application
2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
You're right you can, but I wouldn't suggest it. After flashing too many pcm's to think about, weird things happen and the hardware and cal don't mesh right sometimes.
As far as I know, the 60e cal has to be replaced with an 80e cal, so the controls work right.
If you want to work with two files, write , copy, save, etc, you need credits for both files.
If you have problems, send it over, I can flash it for you.
