Take the fan belt off and see if it goes away. Alternators are notorious for squeeky bearings.

waterpump? i would eliminate the belt first, if you spray it with windex it will stop squeaking if it's just the belt. It is amazing how a squeaky belt can sound like a bearing sometimes. If the windex doesn't make any difference do like Redheartbeat said and take the belt off and run it for a sec.
i sometimes will take a piece of garden hose put one to my ear and the other as a probe to isolate exactly where the noise is coming from.
I had a bad Alt a few weeks ago that made a sound kinda like this, Im with red, Take off the belt and see what happens

Aight the truck making the noise belongs to me!
My homeboy posted the video up for me and so far we've taken the belts of and ran it with no belts and the noise is still there.
Some mechanic said it was the timing chain another mechanic said it can't be that. So now I'm like WTF?!
Cuz two mechanics same something different!
Some body help!
sure sounds like an idler bearing.
Start swapping parts from one truck to the other until you find the culprit.

the noise is coming from inside the timing cover....
and runs all the way back towards the flywheel
The oil pump is behind there and I just wonder if there is a major oiling issue. Some here have heard bearings squeak or rattle when they're starved for oil. How much do you trust the stock oil pressure gauge?
