well, i have made the decision

i am going to keep my nnbs truck my reliable daily driver with very few mods and pick up a new toy to do my heavy modding to. since im am getting something else to make my midnight racer i am torn in which direction i want to go. my one thought is to get some old muscle, an old camaro or chevelle or el camino and drop the new 6.0 i got laying around into it. i like the idea of not having to deal with smog if i go that route. i have always liked the new 05,06 gto's tho and have always wanted one so that is another option. but i do like trucks and i love the idea of muscle trucks. so im always thinking of getting another silverado. i found one on the net i want to go look at. you guys tell me if it seems like a decent deal. im not to worried about the millage on the truck because i would end up dumping the 6.0 in it anyways. i need some help on deciding what to do. any in put would be great. thanks guys

You can find a v6 truck alot cheaper than that since your swapping the motor anyways.

Dude thats alot of money for a four yr old work truck, dont pay any more than 7 grand for that year. I was looking at 40k mile 07 nnbs v8's for 9 to 10 grand around here. Hell I got my 07 for 18 grand and with only 13k miles on the clock. And mine is an LT, so its not the el cheapo model

Got my NNBS 08 5.3 4x4 z71 reg cab for 18k + my crapola jeep, which wasn't worth 3k. The only thing mine doesn't have is navigation.

I agree with everyone else. A little steep. I know it's kinda like apples to oranges but I gave 9,500 for my truck pretty much how it sits. I also got ALL of the factory parts that had been replaced, which I sold/gave away most of it. Had 73k on her. I says get a power equipped v6 or at least a cheaper v8 truck. It would be nice to have a 5.3 to get a few hundred back out of though.

Whatever you get will be better than a new "GTO"
......or should I say Holden Manaro.

ya after doing some more research there are much cheaper better trucks out there then the one i posted earlier. im stuck torn on though if i want to deal with smog rules cause socal rules suck hard or if i just want to go with something from 60's early 70's so i will have no problems at all. i met a guy in long beach though that has a 750wrhp 05 silverado rcsb that he says plays with cobras, so im going to talk to him and see how he got his silverado that much power and staying legal in ca.

I really dig the idea of taking an older A-body and putting in an ls2 or so. Just don't do it if it has a perfectly usable big block, PLEASE!!??!!

yeah the smog issues are definitely an obstacle, but you can build a really strong truck and still pass. If youre goin all out tho, then get the older car and make that thing haul like no other.
