ok i have had the 5.3 silverado and now i have the ss and i was wondering, i want to do the 160 thermostat and tune but with the lower temp, will that effect the truck any in the winter i live in nebraska and dont want my truck going crazy. My second question will a custom tune make my soft shifting SS more like a V8 that wants to go. Thirdly I have searched and will moving the MAF sensor closer to the throttle body do anything for these trucks.
I appreciate your responses and i am just trying to learn a little more about my truck .

id do a 180. custom tune, definitely! and moving the MAF wont do anything...

I would not do a colder t-stat. I would do a live tune if possible. If not go for a mail order tune.
