From the centerline of the crank to deck face, it is 9.235-9.245 inches.
Are you trying to build a 383 from a 5.3L block? You know that the largest you can bore a stock 5.3L block out to is 5.7L, right? Were you looking to put some tall deck heads on it to lengthen the stroke? Make sure to only have the block decked to make the mating surfaces true. Also, what rods and pistons you going with? How far out of the block do you anticipate for the piston to travel?

yes, i know the max bore on the 5.3. i have been reading about this type of build on here and other sites for months.
this is what i plan to use.

still early in the planning procces and haven't thought about the heads yet.

yeah, 383 is possible due to 4" stroke and LS1 bore oversize 3.903 or whatever the LS1 oversize bore is. It may not be exact but its close.

a 4 inch stroke and ls1 bore size will give you a 382. dont worry about the extra inch...
