Budget Edelbrock billet fuel rail installation

Here's my latest addition to the ride. Since the weather is too hot to improve track times I decided to put the race money to use doing a little upgrade that became necessary when my shraeder valve cracked on my stock LS2 fuel rails. The weight of the fuel pressure sending unit and abuse of the engine cause a crack in the schraeder valve connection. Its a good thing Jon(DBRODS) noticed it when we were at NitrousOutlet or the truck could have burned to the ground due to an underhood fire.

wow and only for $140 dollars. How much more is it for a FP regulator for a return style?

it would depend on what FPR you bought. You'd have to get it and all the AN connections to hook to it along with hose. I used all 6' of my -8 hose and moved my fuel filter all the way back to just in front of the fuel tank. I figured that if one day I upgraded to a bigger pump, the supply line would be ready for it.

BTW, the Edelbrock rails are only $79.95 for a set new. Edelbrock 3638 - Edelbrock Aluminum Fuel Rails – SummitRacing.com

Here's a breakdown of what it would cost new to do it the way I did...
    Rails $79.95
    EAR-165106ERL ALUM TUBE ADPT -6AN to 3/8" $9.25
    EAR-991912ERL -6AN MALE TO -8AN MALE UNION $5.25
    SUM-220890 -8AN FEMALE HOSE END STRAIGHT $6.95
    SUM-230806 -8AN BRAIDED STAINLESS HOSE 6' LENGTH $28.95
    SUM-220887 -8AN 90 DEG SWIVEL HOSE END $14.95 (3)
    SUM-220846 -8AN MALE TO 3/8NPT ADAPTER $2.95 (3)
SUM-G1487B-1 3/8 NPT PIPE PLUG $1.95 (caps off end of fuel system if no pressure gauge installed)

$186 plus shipping costs total for a returnless billet fuel rail system

I forgot to add time to drill new mounting holes plus building the simple mounting tabs out of some strap iron or aluminum. I had some 1.5" square aluminum tubing I cut up to make mine out of.

The 3/8 NPT to 1/8 NPT adapter was a 3/8 NPT plug , similar to Perma-Cool 15144 - Perma-Cool Plugs – SummitRacing.com , I bought at ORIELLY's for under $4 and then I drilled and tapped it for the 1/8 NPT fitting. If you don't have a fuel pressure sending unit or a need for an outlet at the end of the rail then a simple 3/8" NPT plug will work.

That's a good plan stan, getting your system ready for a bigger pump

Updated previous post with actual new prices for parts.

Just thinking ahead on the larger hose setup in case I ever want to go bigger. Who knows, maybe an injected Edelbrock/Musi 555 Big block could go in here next.

Must be something electrical. It flowed the right amount of nitrous during the test. I'll work on that later when I don't sweat a gallon of precious liquids out of my body per hour while working on it.
