Hey guys thanks for putting togther a great sight! Been doing ALOT of reading for when i drop a LQ9(or something like that) In my 1990 suburban. Just a little background abnout me/ my truck i guess;
My name is Mitch i Live in Portland Oregon and im 22 years old. I have owned a full size chevy 4x4 in some capacity or another sense i was 14. in order it went, 73 suburban, 76 blazer, 80 pickup, another 76 blazer, 90 suburban, 78 suburban, and 78 GMC pickup... It would take a book to list all the things that i have done to them all an currently i still own three of them. My 90+78 burbs and my 78 GMC pickup. We'll stick to the story of the 90 as thats pretty much all you all will hear about around here.
I got my 90suburban from my dad when i was 17. I hold it very dear to me because he ordered it brand new from the factory in'89. I was just turning three when he got it. He had to order it without the bucket seats so i could be strapped in my car seat in front. Long story short dad got himself into trouble with the law and thats when i ended up with it. Had 197k miles and was pretty clean as he always took extra good care of it. I drove it alot and it now has 223k miles.
I always loved the truck and took pretty good care of it while i drove it but the bottom line is that i had it while i was teen and wasnt as nice to it as i could have been. for the past year it has been parked up at my cabin where i cant tear it up so much. Still pretty clean but needs just about everything. Head liner, carpet, etc. So now with the purchase of my first house comes the purchase of my first garage! Meaning i will have somewhere to do the long term project of restifying it.
Ok thats all the more i will go on for now. Here is a couple pics,
